If you’re a fan of DC Comics and their movies, you were probably excited to hear that Playtech made a Suicide Squad slot game. And even if you’re not, the film’s popularity must certainly have caught your attention.

Suicide Squad slot overview
This online slot relies almost exclusively on the brand, adding little creativity as far as gameplay is concerned. You can play the jackpot game for a chance at four different jackpot wins on the plus side. There’s also a couple of features that break the monotony, but little else.
The problem is that it’s hard to enjoy this slot if you’re not a die-hard Suicide Squad fan.

Theme & design
The game uses a not-so-simple (and certainly not subtle) background of bright paint colours to frame five reels with three rows each. It’s interesting to note that the high-paying symbols are animated, but once you get past the initial effect, you realise that the animation is really rather lazy.
Low-paying symbols are the trademark weapons of the film’s antiheroes. The high-paying symbols are the good bad guys themselves, each with their maximum win multiplier:
- 250x – Deadshot (Will Smith)
- 200x – Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie)
- 200x – The Joker (Jared Leto)
- 150x – Katana (Karen Fukuhara)
- 150x – Diablo (Jay Hernandez)
The high-paying symbols can occupy anywhere between one row to a full reel (four rows).
The Enchantress symbol (250x) triggers the Enchantress mode when it lands fully on any reel.
My biggest problem with the theme is that the background music and sound effects are deafening and overwhelming. In fact, you’d think the Joker designed them with the specific intention of wreaking havoc on the players’ minds.
Suicide Squad slot game features
Suicide Squad Wilds
This feature will see the high-paying symbols replaced by the Suicide Squad wild, increasing your chances at a winning combination. This is triggered by getting a full-reel (anti)hero symbol (4 rows).
- Deadshot: adds 4 Suicide Squad Wilds to random positions on the reels
- Harley Quinn: adds 4 Suicide Squad Wilds to the whole reel it falls on
- Joker: adds 3 Suicide Squad Wilds to random rows on the reel it falls on
- Diablo & Katana: adds 2 Suicide Squad Wilds to random rows on the reel it falls on
Each Suicide Squad wild locks into the reel for the next spin. Each following spin will unlock and remove one wild.
Landing the Enchantress symbol on all four rows of a reel will replace the symbol with four wilds. All the Suicide Squad wilds are replaced with Enchantress Wilds, which bring on a 2x multiplier for your wins. Plus, with the following spins, you’ll have the Enchantress symbol locked in place. The wilds unlock with subsequent spins one by one until all are gone from the screen.
There are four different progressive jackpots in the Suicide Squad slot: mini, minor, major and grand. The jackpot game is triggered at random and requires you to claim 20 jackpot icons to fill a meter.
This is not the first time a film has given birth to a slot machine. There are many examples, but I would like to draw your attention to the action-packed blockbuster The Expendables Megaways.
Suicide Squad Slot Review: Lamest baddest slot ever
When you hear about any franchise games, you usually expect them to bring the essence of the brand to iGaming. That’s not the case with Playtech’s Suicide Squad slot game.
This video slot is just like Harley Quinn, but without any of her personality or signature charm: it relies on loud sounds and colours that are a dead-giveaway of hysterical attention-seeking.
To be fair, the game has a couple of interesting features: Enchantress Mode and Suicide Squad Wilds. The problem is that it’s hard to enjoy them with the conservative gameplay and overwhelming visual and sound effects.
