Mega Fortune Dreams is the high volatility progressive jackpot slot sequel from Netent.
Mega Fortune Dreams: where dreams just might come true
Mega Fortune Dreams is the 2014 follow-up to the 2009 Mega Fortune. I still do like the original just fine, and players from our community continue to play it just like they did all those many years ago. I must admit however that I like what Netent has done with this redesigned version using improved graphics and gameplay. It has quickly established itself as one of the most popular progressive jackpots, much like its predecessor, making millionaires out of a few very lucky individuals each year.
The slot includes several features including wilds, a re-spin with sticky wilds, free spins with up to x10 progressive multiplier and of course the famous bonus wheel which gives us a crack at the pooled progressive jackpots!
Game Highlights about Mega Fortune Dreams
The key word to describe this Mega Fortune Dreams slot theme is “decadence.” This is because even the background scene of a yacht on the open seas screams wealth beyond belief! Of course, the symbols on the reels are no different. The top-paying symbols are composed of a beautiful diamond ring, luxury watch, designer purse, champagne on ice and a cocktail glass.
Even the low-paying symbols are made up of five royal flush poker icons, diamond studded for a maximum wealth effect! The soundtrack is composed of a pleasingly mellow tune that creates a happy mood like a beautiful sunset. This 5-reels and 20 paylines slot has an RTP of around 96% and we can vary our wager from £0.20 to £80. Designed in HTML5, we can play it from a mobile, or a desktop, using an Android or iOS device.
The slot has an RTP of around 96%.
Wild and Re-spins with sticky wilds
An image of palm trees sand and sea make up the wild symbol which can appear on any of the reels in the main game, re-spins and free spins. It substitutes for the regular symbols only, meaning no scatters and bonus symbols. The wild can also form a winning payline on its own, where 3, 4 or 5 will reward 50, 500 or 5,000 coins respectively. As an extra treat, when at least three wilds appear on the reels, then they become sticky for 1 re-spin, giving us a greater chance of collecting a win.
Free spins with progressive multiplier
A sparkling diamond acts as a scatter symbol. Land 3, 4 or 5 of the symbols in order to collect 10, 15 or 20 free spins respectively. Something I really liked about the slot was that the free spins started with a x3 multiplier which increased by x1 or x2 for each scatter that appeared during the feature. The progressive multiplier can reach a maximum of x10. Once this is the case then we can collect up to 3 additional free spins with the appearance of any more scatter symbols.
Features include wilds, re-spins, bonus jackpot wheel and free spins with progressive win multiplier.
Jackpot Bonus game
A bonus symbol appearing in sets of three anywhere on the middle three reels will trigger the bonus game feature. Here, the first wheel spins for the chance to collect coins or advance to the next wheel. If we make it to the second wheel, then we have a chance to collect more coins or a jackpot win. The maximum number of coin wins is capped at 6,000. The bonus wheel feature is difficult to trigger, but not impossible. As one can imagine, unlocking a progressive jackpot is extremely difficult. There are three progressive jackpots: Rapid, Major and Mega. Each one differs significantly in terms of size from a few hundred/thousand to potentially millions!
Normal jackpot or progressive jackpot?
If you read my review correctly, Mega Fortune Dreams is a progressive jackpot slot like Mega Moolah from Microgaming. These are among the best known, but I want to introduce you to two slots that are also worth your attention.
Mega Fortune Dreams verdict: Dare to dream…
It’s hard not to compare Mega Fortune Dreams to the original Mega Fortune since it arguably sets the standard for progressive jackpots. There is definitely an improvement in graphics which I noticed most when I compared bonus wheels, which was pretty much night and day. I think my favourite improvement, besides the addition of the re-spin feature, was in the free spins feature which now includes a progressive multiplier which starts at x3 and can quickly go up to x10.
The progressive jackpot mechanics haven’t changed much from the original – why change something that works? Let’s be honest; the odds of winning a progressive jackpot is exceedingly low, but it does happen and the thrill of trying is hard to match. While high progressive jackpots are not for everyone, I think some members of our player community will appreciate what the slot has to offer.
