British slot developer Push Gaming has given the cult Razor Shark slot, one of Push Gaming’s most popular slots, a new coat of paint and taken the casino game to the next level.
The result is Razor Returns, the official title of Razor Shark 2, a worthy sequel that has just hit the market in 2023 and has been available in all good online casinos since July 4.
The predecessor to Razor Returns was the biggest slot success of recent years. The online slot also has the potential to hit the community again, we have no doubt about that.
Razor Returns overview
Razor Returns is a fast-paced mystery reel slot with an enhanced bonus feature and plenty of extra details to make it an equal successor to the original.
In terms of game structure, Razor Returns remains totally faithful to the successful recipe of its predecessor: the Mystery symbols, scatter symbols and progressive multiplier in the bonus games are still familiar to us from Razor Shark.
However, in the second part of the Razor Shark saga, Push Gaming offers players the chance to dive straight into the bonus feature via a bonus purchase.
Story & Design
In Razor Returns, you once again dive into an underwater world, which is beautiful to look at, but brings all kinds of dangers with it. Here, you have to watch out for the great white shark while searching for the gold coins hidden in the depths of the sea.
We wanted to give the new familiar old characters a second life. We improved them but kept the same personalities. In Razor Returns, it’s not just the visuals that have been improved.

The visuals of Razor Returns will be based on the first part. The dreaded great white shark will also be found as a symbol, but whether this will be in the form of a wild symbol in Razor Returns remains to be seen.
In any case, the graphics will be adapted to more modern standards and you can also expect completely new symbols. However, it is clear that the reel will not increase in size in Razor Returns.
Gameplay & Features
The predecessor Razor Shark already had a very high volatility – and high winnings will also be possible with Razor Returns. The maximum win is 100,000x. A bit of a pity, as this was still unlimited in Razor Shark.
The playfield is bigger, the sharks are meaner, and the wins are bigger. The Razor Reveal feature is now packed with extra symbols like the Collector, the Multiplier and a never before seen symbol, the Convertor.

One main difference to its predecessor is that you can start the free spins with more than just three scatter symbols and thus enter the free spins with a higher multiplier. Developer Push Gaming also exclusively provided us with more info from the slot’s development process:
Razor Returns Symbols
The scatter symbol this time is a torpedo, which is labelled with the term “BONUS”. Three or more scatters trigger the free spins, as usual.
The legendary “algae” is back at the start of course, revealing either normal symbols, the Wild symbol (a shark) or Golden Sharks (“Razor Reveal”). As with Razor Shark, the algae also remains on the screen over several spins until the reel has run through once.
The “Razor Reveal” symbol is again a golden shark. This hides instant wins, multipliers, torpedoes or other symbols that are as yet unknown.
Free Spins & Features
During Razor Returns free spins, reels 2 and 4 are covered with seaweed, which can then reveal different symbols.
There are different levels of free spins. If you land more than 3 Torpedo symbols, you get a bigger starting multiplier, which increases your initial chances of winning.
Push Gaming
There’s no bonus buy feature on Razor Shark, but that has changed on Razor Returns. After all, Razor Shark was one of Push Gaming’s first slots and at the time, the option to buy bonuses wasn’t widespread.
However, we remind you that the feature buy option has been banned in the UK by the UKGC so you won’t be able to take advantage of it but still play the slot.
