Safer Gambling Commitments from UK Focused Operators
Leading operators in the UK market have committed to five core commitments.
Safer Gambling Commitments: an initiative designed to tackle the problem of harm inflicted on consumers and underage people has the support of some leading operators in the UK market. The UKGC continues its drive towards raising the bar when it comes to gambling in the UK. In the past, it has not been shy about speaking out when the need arises. This included their recent attack on UK-focused, Malta-based operators who demonstrated weak compliance standards.
The Safer Gambling Commitments initiative
The commitments concern underage gambling, treatment, marketing & advertising, customer protection and a safer gambling culture.
Today, we have a new story to tell our player community about safer gambling commitments by some big UK operators that supports the UKGC’s long-term strategy of reducing the adverse impact of gambling on some members of society.
The ‘Safer Gambling Commitments’ is part of a strategy by the UK Gambling Commission to reduce the long-term harm that gambling can have. This initiative proposes to change the way operators ensure the protection of players and society. Some of the big players such as Bet365, GVC and William Hill amongst several others have already committed.
Five Core commitments for Safer Gambling
This is part of a longer-term plan by the UK Gambling Commission to address problems associated with gambling.
The Safer Gambling Commitments initiative can be broken down into five core commitments. The first is the prevention of underage gambling through education designed and presented by YGAM and GamCare. There will be a four-year program launch as part of this commitment. The second commitment concerns support for the treatment of gambling addiction.
There is also a commitment to strengthening codes of conduct surrounding affiliate/direct marketing and sponsorship advertising, customer protection and, finally, a commitment to promoting a safer gambling culture.
LadyLucks supports any initiative to safeguard members of the player community and society at large.
